Dr Tamer graduated and thereafter did his master in surgery (2006) & PhD in bariatric surgery followed by MD (2015) from Ain Shams University, Egypt. Apart from basic general surgical procedures, he has had vast experience & exposure to a spectrum of obesity surgeries.
Dr Tamer is a member of the international federation of surgery of obesity (IFSO) as well as the emirate society of bariatric surgeon and a distinguished life member of World Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons. He has successfully completed and updated his fellowship in Minimal Access Surgeries & Robotic Surgeries, duly awarded as Fellow of International College of Robotic Surgeons & MAS by IAO.
Dr Tamer completed his fellowship in bariatric surgery in Taiwan under the supervision of Prof Lee who is the inventor of Mini gastric bypass surgery.
He is well versed in all bariatric procedures, his special area of interest includes Laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy, Mini gastric bypass and revisional bariatric surgeries, laparoscopic Nissen fundoplication for a hiatus hernia and laparoscopic emergencies.
